Where technically feasible, this website avoids third-party data sharing by design – for example, all fonts and icons are hosted directly on this domain rather than loaded from Google or similar providers.
The site is hosted by GitHub, Inc., a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, via GitHub Pages. Each access to this site causes GitHub to process technical log data, including the visitor's IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, and the date and time of access, for the purpose of technically delivering the site and safeguarding it against misuse. The Chess Bot page contains an interactive game viewer that, once actively activated by the visitor, loads content directly from lichess.org, a French non-profit organisation. Upon activation, the visitor's browser establishes a direct connection to lichess, which may process the visitor's IP address and set cookies in accordance with its own privacy policy. This processing takes place on the basis of consent given through the act of activation (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
This website also links to third-party services such as Instagram, LinkedIn, lichess, GeoGuessr, and Vecteezy. Following such a link leads to a service operated independently of this website and subject to that service's own privacy policy.
Visitors may direct inquiries regarding access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or objection to the contact address above. As this website does not itself store personal data beyond what is described here, most such inquiries can be answered directly; data processed by GitHub or lichess as described above falls under their own responsibility, and requests concerning that data should be directed to them.
