Quiz
This fun coding project challenges your knowledge and intuition about cities all over the world.
The rules are simple: you'll be shown a city name, and it's up to you to guess where it's located on the world map, based on the spelling of the name alone. The closer you are, the better! And don't worry if it's too easy or too hard: you can choose between three difficulty levels below.
This game also has a fun connection to physics and general relativity. Since the earth is round, the closest path between two points on the world map can sometimes be quite counterintuitive. To visualise the precise distance between your guess and the actual location, the game displays the shortest geodesic, i.e. the shortest path in a curved space, between your guess and the correct location.
Thanks for playing!
I'm excited to hear about your personal highscores – the lower the total distance, the better!
